Transmission failed? How many miles are on your car?

If it is your shifter that you cannot move, more than likely there is a problem with the shift interlock solenoid. It releases when you step on the brake so you can shift. It may be that a wire broke off and locked up the shift interlock, not allowing you to shift.

it has 169700 and it will go into reversre and into low just wont shift out after that
