Question type: Maintenance & Repair

just had tranny rebuilt and I installed it. put fluid in it and let truck warm up. I went through the gears and nothing. idle will change like normal when putting in gear. thought maybe transfer case was stuck in neutral , but when in park it won't roll. any suggestions ?

I put in 6 quarts and the level is the same after truck warmed up. its like the pump has air in it or something and not circulating

yes. I was told to start with 6 quarts and go through the gears and when the pump starts then add the rest of fluid. with 6 quarts in it, it is showing overfilled. I think the pump is captivating and there is to much air pressure and not pulling in the fluid. I'm going to drain a little fluid out tomorrow till it gets to the full mark and try again.

was I suppose to have the truck idling before I ever put any fluid in it ? I put the 6 quarts in first before ever starting the truck.
