Power Issue, Bad Wires, or Trans Issue..........Plz Help !!!
Just want to get some opinions on this problem I am having ever since I hit at deer back in June of 2006.
Acceleration from 0 - 40 seems good. Problem only exsists when truck is at FULL operation temp, but right after 40 mph, the truck loses all power, I know the Torque Convertor kicks in right at that time, but every other Chevy I drive as soon as you touch the accelerator the TC unlocks and you have full power again. With my 99 Silverado, it takes almost a 3/4 accelerator push to get the TC to unlock. So with a nice gentle accel, once you hit forty, to keep a decent accel, you have to push 3/4 throttle to get it to kick down a gear / unlock TC. Is this a problem with the TC or is a wiring problem. Also, where else could the problem lie ? They have done reprogramming of the PCM and put in a Pressure Cellinoid, Knock Sensors, and Intake Gasket that was cracked.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
..... I do have aftermarket 3" exhaust which did come into play with a GM dealer, saying that it was throwing my rear O2 sensor off causing the problem, any truth to that idea ?
