Can you change to 4wd while driving in 2wd?

yes you can. both the manual shift and electronic shift 4wd systems on GM trucks are chift on the fly, but only into 4HI. You have to stop and place the transmission into neutral to place it in 4LO. It is not recommended to shift into 4wd at anytime the wheels are spining and not to shift into 4wd or travel at speeds greater than 80km/h. Hope this helps
