2002 Silverado w. 5.3 engine sometimes dies on start-up.
Engine shuts down on start-up like it is out of gas. Restarts fine but dies
again if you don't keep foot on accelerator and keep at 500 RPM's or higher.
Only does it periodically and only when engine has been warmed up and
then turned off. Never does it with a cold engine. You can drive it with 1 foot
on the brake and 1 foot on the accelerator and get to where you need to but
that is dangerous. After you shut it off and everything cools down, it will start
and stay running fine. Have changed the fuel pump and fuel filter so I don't
think it is a fuel delivery problem. It's almost feels like the idle needs to be
adjusted but there is no adjustment for these models.
