Battery/alternator

Asked by i4r2i0e Jan 20, 2019 at 02:39 PM about the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 silverado 4.8. When starting, it feels like it
barely turns over. After a day or 2 without starting it the
voltage meter reads 9 or less and requires a jump. Was
suggested that a bad diode in alternator could cause a
slow drain in battery. Is there a way to check without
replacing the alternator? Or any other troubleshooting that
could help narrow the problem before i start replacing parts
(batt/alt)?

Look up how to find a parasitic battery drain. Links are hard to post here.
