Reverse not working on a 4l60e

I have a 04 Chevy 1500 4x4 my tranny was out so it sat next to a feild for a little while. So they put in a used one and first it had wires chewed so it wouldnt crank. So we found some wired chewed so we fixed those. And then I dont have reverse can a chewed wire make reverse not work
