Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado, was driving and turned on another highway
and as i gassed on it to speed up, it lost power and made a loud sound, as
i was pulling off the highway all the sudden it regained power and took back
off.  It's happened several times since, but it doesn't always make the loud
noise. It's my only vehicle so i'm trying to figure out what is causing this, so
i can get it fixed before whatever it is goes completely out. Any body have
any ides what this could be?

Sounds like a miss firing spark plug. When was last time you had a tune up ?

Usually I just replace spark plugs but since you are there to see the condition of wires if they look like they need them by all means replace them.

Had the same thing happen to me yesterday. Lose of power warning light came on and pulled straight over. Had to look up what the heck warning light was. Manual said truck was over heating. Check coolant reservoir and it was pretty full. I immediately took it to mechanic, it’s been there since. They called me today and couldn’t find anything wrong with it. I told them leave it running with air conditioning running full blast hoping to find out issue. Anyone have a clue??
