when to change serpentine belt?

with 88k miles it would not hurt doing it now you also need to replace the ac belt its the smaller 1 at the left bottom of the engine if you look at it you will see that its already showing cracks if not already been replaced
if its never been changed ,now would be a good time . if you look on the inside of the belt you might see tiny cracks & looks a little dry rotted. they should be changed like every 50 thousand miles .
they are suggested to last 100k but often do not , as bosr said inspect
general rule of thumb is if it has 3 or more cracks per 3 inches its time

When the SERPENTINE LOOKS AT YOU and BITS YOU IN THE ASS
Ive always had good luck with my belts lasting a long time, I just replaced the one on my car now because it was squeaking and it had 112k miles on it. My camaro had 130k on it and it was still going strong. With that being said there is always a chance of it coming apart on you when it gets old like that and if it does it will leave you stranded.
i replace it every 4 years or anytime i see deep cuts and / or rubbed out side ribs. they are easy to change and power all your engine components so change it. keep the old one as a spare stand-by because u never know when you neeed one. road debris, accident debris, and junk can really knock it out unexpectedly. happy motoring!
