it wouldnt start so we replaced the fuel pump still doesnt start..thought it might be fuel filter

On my 2006 chevy 2500 I can not find A fuel filter any where on the frame I have followed these fuel line from the tank to the engine and can not fi d a filter. Do you think it may be in the tank.

Good to have some info. On a 2009 2500 hd fuel pump as being part of the fuel pump assembly.thanks
