Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 Chevrolet tracker
1.6 liter it will start and run fine
then after. Of you know half an
hour or so it will die and will not
crank back up spirit. Then let it sit
for a while and it will crank back
up and restart the process

Sounds like a bad crankshaft position sensor. They heat up, quit and then come back to life when they cool down. They control your ignition spark. Scan for codes to be sure. It will be P0320. If it's P0340, that's the camshaft position sensor.

Yeah if it is crankshaft position sensor, they say it had a heatsink on it. And I think you're supposed to remove it or maybe add a better one. Google that, like crankshaft position sensor heating or overheating
