Hay, any idea how to repair the shifter button (center console) on 02 Crown Vic sport? it will not press in so no shifting it out of park.

Hey, it's me...I here it may be a hook that attaches to the brake pedal, thus when you step on the brake it does not release.... Also I'm being told the test is to check the brake lights as it is somehow tied into the switch... Make sense to anyone? PS - I am not near the car to try this theory out... stay tuned

Its called a brake switch its attached to the top of the brake pedal had the same problem with my 2008 its a very quick fix and not even over $15 also you would need to replace your brake light fuse under the hood this is why you don't have break lights type in switching brake switch in ford cars on youtube shows you everything
