Ford Escape (2002 v6) no spark after alternator replaced

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the alternator, drove it for 10-15 miles, turned it off, restarted it,
drove about 20 feet, and the car died. my alternator wires were crimped
between the alternator and the frame.  I removed them, taped them up, and
reconnected then, car cranked but wouldn't start. checked fuses, helo,
injector and ecm were blown.  replaced them, crank, but no start.  checked
plugs, no spark. fuel pump sounds like it's running, replaced coils, cam
position sensor, crank position sensor, wiring harness!, checked all grounds,
checked battery, checked o2 sensors, tps sensor, can't get a spark.  (anti-
theft is NOT activated, that's not the problem either.)  any ideas on what else
it could be?

I figured it out. Not sure how, but the 'hot on start/run' wire (wh/vt) to the coils was broken between the 16 pin connector and the ignition capacitor... no clue how it got cut as it was still grouped with all the other wires inside the wire wrap....
