My 2003 expedition has started running really rough and I smell exhaust fumes. What's my problem?

Also check air filter and clean throttle body and replace fuel filter if have not done so in a while add some Lucas Fuel Injector cleaner to gas tank.

Do you have a CEL (check engine light) on? I suspect you have a coil going bad. To know which one you will need the code read. If you have not replaced the spark plugs with double platinum plugs in the last 100,000 miles it is time to do so.
