We've had a 2002 for five years and it has had that ticking noise. We've never had a problem, but it is ominous and you never know when it could fail. 5 years later, engine runs fine and just has that loud tick.
I have a 2003 Ford expedition all of a sudden today he started making a ticking noise sounds like it’s coming from the backside of the motor

I've recently heard a ticking noise, as my 2010 f150 is ideling. It is somewhat quieter when the A.C. is on, but still there. After driving for 10-15 mins, I smell a burnt wire smell. Any ideas?
