By "signal switch" do you mean the turn signal relay usually mounted under the driver's side dash panel? If that has not been changed, I would do it. If the relay is OK, you might not be getting good contact through the bulb sockets. Corrosion could be the cause. If the relay did not fix your problem, try replacing the bulb sockets.

First rule in repairing anything electrical, even autos, get a volt meter and a wiring diagram. The goal is to begin where the power originates, the fuse panel, then keep checking forward until you receive no voltage. Replacing parts gets expensive at a hit and miss endeavor.
