I am a woman I am out of town I am in a small town here in Missouri dealer says approximately $450.00 for key isn't that a little high?

I see these security features f'ing up more losses for innocent owners than problems for the dishonest. I have personally lost 2 vehicles because I couldn't afford a key. Here in these posts I've seen owners have to scrap them. I think it should be unlawful for manufacturers to implement such technology. It is totally overboard. It is causing great expense to the general public and great profit to manufacturers, dealers, and their related partners. To open the hood and go through enough steps where this couldn't easily be done in public without being seen is plenty adequate enough.
