Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a ford 500 2005, it started just fine yesterday. Today it acts like it will start but instead just stutters. Headlights work, internal lights work, stereo works, battery is all good, full tank of gas. whats the deal? Thank you for your help.

There are a number of reasons that can cause this, ether electrical or fuel. Start by having any codes read by a scanner, this would point you into the right direction. If it is a fuel issue some vehicles will not set a code for this, so have the fuel pressure checked also.

It sounds like the throttle position sensor within the throttle body itself is failing. I have same car, exact issues and when it finally failed, a p2111 and p2112 appeared on diagnostic tool. Fords suggestion is to replace with an UNHEATED throttle body . Youtube videos on replacing. Simple DIY fix. You can watch video for five hundred, ford freestar, and Mercury montego. All same layout.

I found a broken wire to my crankshift sensor that stop my car from running.
