Fuel pump?

Hi,
My car keeps breaking down. Sometimes it doesn't
start after I stop for a short while. I have to leave it
for about an hour and then it starts. Do you have an
idea what this might be? I've been told it's the fuel
pump? I've been quoted 220 pounds, is this
reasonable?

No, I don't think it is the fuel pump. You could have the fuel pressure verified with a fuel pressure gauge to find out if it is. But I think it may be the coil going bad. When the engine gets to operating temperature it generates heat that will affect a bad coil. The vehicle starts when it is cold, and engine head does not affect the fuel pump.

if it is a fuel pump going out, it would eventually fail completely- my guess is an ignition module- anyway, get a second opinion- that is a lot of money-

My ford escape was doing the same thing. Ford replaced the fuel module but the problem didn't go away. Turned out it was the throttle system.
