Changing a fuel pump for 2001 Ford Focus

The new fuel pump has a new fuel line that goes to the fuel filter.  The new line
won't fit into the fitting on the new fuel pump, the old is the same size and won't fit
the new fuel pump either- help?

What you can do is get a replacement line that has the correct fitting size that you need and cut off the old one and install the new one using a fuel line repair kit, this should help explain how to make the connection/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJ9f6NUzaZU
