first install head,pull #1 spark plug have someone bump motor over,not crank ,just bump starter,hold a finger over plug hole when compresson stroke is up it will blow air up on finger,that is your compresson stroke,the TDC is a straigh grove line on crank,it should be on top of crank,this is TDC.,if not up on top,you going to have to retime it.
