digital display light showing the odometer, mpg etc. not working

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently, the digital display showing things
like the odometer, mpg, mileage until empty
etc has stopped working. The rest of the
lights on the dashboard seem to be working
fine. Is there anything that I can do to
address this issue so that I can avoid taking
it to a mechanic? Might it be as simple as a
fuse? Or is it something that requires more
attention? Not knowing the odometer
reading and mileage until empty is really
annoying.

Try tapping on the instrument panel where it shows the mileage .

I recently experienced this on a car that I purchased. Try the dimmer switch on the dome light, mine was set to almost off, and upon turning on the dome light with the dimmer switch, all the dash indicators lit up bright again, thus restoring odometer, mileage to empty, and also all climate control displays..
