I have a part that sits on top of the engine that's broke off. It's one of those that plugs in the engine. It sits in the middle part of the engine with a couple of wires attached to it!

Does anyone know what this part is? My switch wont go from vent to defrost when i turn it. I figured out this piece is broken but cant figure out what part it is?

I have a 2007 PT Cruiser that wouldn't shift out of 1st gear. After a new computer being installed it still wouldn't and now the speedometer and odometer don't work.
