Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 pt cruiser & just recently the
driver's side tire began making a squeeking
sound. From there it just got worst & now it
makes a loud rubbing noise along with the
squeeking. Whenever it makes the rubbing
noise the steering wheel jerks to the side a
little &, at one point, it even jerked to the
side really bad. I Already Took The car to a
mechanic but he hasn't checked it out yet
so I just want to have an idea of what it may
be before he tells me what he thinks it is.

Mike could be right. It could also be a lower ball joint, tie rod end, strut, axle, or as simple a brake pads grinding into the rotors.
