Are G. Caravans noisey inside at hi-way speeds.

Asked by willymet Feb 01, 2007 at 09:31 PM about the 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan SE Plus FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Our Grand Caravan seems to have high wind or road noise at high speeds.  this van has the stow & go seating.  My sister has a 2003 Caravan and it seems a lot quieter. Thanks.

Hello, I have heard from many Caravan owners that their vans tend to be loud on the highway. They are not built in the most aerodynamic fashion, so tend to take the brunt of the wind. Grand Caravans are larger than Caravans (such as your sister's), which may explain the difference in sound quality. I hope this helps! CarGrrl

humor me on this one, if your van has a luggage rack, try reversing it, don't worry it'll fit, when i got mine new, the dealer installs these with the pdi and if put on backwards they are noisey enough you can't hear in the backseat. it's worth a try and if it still is noisey check the rear wheelbearings.

i would recomend that you get your tires looked at... If the quality of the tire is poor then it will make more road noise... Quality rubber is one of the best ways to reduce road noise...
