Truck died won't start

Asked by Aaron Feb 10, 2016 at 11:21 AM about the 1994 GMC Sierra 1500 C1500 SL Standard Cab SB

Truck died while driving.  Didn't smoke or
sputter just cut off like I turned it off
myself.   Now it won't even turn over.  
Turn the key and just a loud click.  
Changed alternator and starter.  Any
suggestions

Battery needs to be good also, was it recharged? And the battery connection good clean & tight?

Try the starter relay. Its in the fuse box somewhere. Make sure you are getting 12V down on the small wire on the starter when you turn the key to start. May need a helper on that one.

Step one is always check the connections. The battery post is cheap and gets dirty and comes loose easily. Clean it, tighten it and probably best to replace it with a brass one.
