my 2000 sierra loses power on hills please tell me what to look for

I'd take a look at the fuel pressure regulator first...it's vacuum source and the operation of the diaphragm...I'm convinced that Chevron with Techron EATS this fuel pressure regulator diaphragm material and causes failures...take a look a this one and change the butyl rubber vacuum hoses with silicone ones (if you can afford them)~

my second guess would be that your EGR valve is crudded up with carbon...take it off and give it a shower with brake cleaner to get all the carbon off of that~put 'er back on and note the operation...the vacuum source...possible cracked vacuum hose on that one too~ switch to silicone~
