1994 GMC K2500 Brake lights don't work!!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1994 GMC K2500 that keeps blowing the STOP fuse when I press on the brake pedal.  Even with a new brake light switch.  Checked wiring-  seems good-at least at the junctions and at the front and rear of the truck.  Replaced the mother boards at the tailights. The brake light bulbs flash just before the fuse blows so they seem fine. I have not replaced the brake light relay because I can hear the relay click when the fuse blows.  Any insights?

I had this problem earlier this year..tried all the above and the stop fuse would keep blowing. Then I remembered that I had installed new bulbs in my cab light. When they didn't light up, even though I had voltage, I left them in-way back when. So when I removed the bulbs..voila! No more blown stop fuse. Now, after trying a new led cab light, I discovered that it stays entirely lit even when nothing is on or the brake pedal is pressed. Any thoughts, anypne? At least now I can drive without having to use the stop signal with my arm out the window every time I use the brakes..
