my audi A4 quattro is shaking while on park. Why?

It could be the engine miss firing. It could be a bad motor mount.

vacuum leak. check with an unlit propane torch~
An aerosol spray such a brake cleaner would be much more practical than a propane torch when checking for a vacuum leak.

whichever will cause you to seek out replacement vacuum hoses, do recommend silicone, like we used to steal off the bmw's when they'd come in for smog work~ summit racing has them http://www.hiperformancestore.com/hosebyfoot.htm

quite certain Audi would use all silicone hoses that do not leak vacuum~ It's only the cheap cars that put their cars together with cheap stuff like Kia, and Hyundai, and some fords~
Some of those Audi's have electrical motor mounts that respond equal and opposite of the engine vibrations. They are like speakers. Check in at Audiworld.com and Audizine.com to see if you have them and what to look for.

you think maybe this system has gone hay-weird? oooof, would be checkin' the sensors for this delicate operation, certainly has a fail-safe mode~no?
I don't know if this model has them - I do know that some Audi's do have them.
i have a audi 2.8l v6 quatrra 98 model my most comman vibrations when in park is a rough idle it happens try cleaning out the mass air flow sensor for starts. then move on to checking spark plug wires and spark plugs i have high end bosch in mine not the cheap ones i find they last the longest with a more positive spark. I would then go from there to the crank case hoses if the car is not geting the excess moisture and fuel back threw these it causes a bad idle. then move on to checking all the tons of vacum lines and replace realy ratty looking ones. in the end this still won't guaranty to solve it as mine still idles a little off hear and there but more or less smooth. try that then get back to us to see what you find
check the coils, maybe you have a bad coil. recommend to change all six if this is the problem

increase the idle speed to 900 RPM and see if it still shakes~
