Question type: General
I have a phone connection in the center consol for a wired phone, but on the steering wheel there is a button with a symbol of a phone. I want to know if I can sync my phone to the car and answer calls.

The a6 4.2 had phone system as standard. All others had it as an option. If you have the 4.2 you have it, if you don't its not likely. Look up your car specified options.
i do not think that they had bluetooth in 2001 aqs my 2001 A8L has a phone in steering wheel , but not a blue tooth system.

The 2001 Audi A6 4.2 did not have a factory installed phone as a standard option, just as they did not have NAV as a standard option. My '01 4.2 does not have the phone. Unfortunately there is still no way to use the existing pre-wired system in the car to connect to the bluetooth enabled celluar devices of today.
