The reduced engine power has been happening to my truck for a long time and no one seems to be able to fix it. It has something to do with fuel. I say that because the only way my truck will turn the alert off and gain power while driving again is if I turn engine off, take gas cap off and put it back on.

I was having the same trouble. My truck was losing power wouldn’t go pass 20mph.at this point I done had enough, I’m ready to sell it now, so I figure I do a little more research, I drive a 08 Yukon, I have change the throttle bodies a couple of times, still having the same problem,so come to find out you have another throttle position on your gas pedal.I’m thinking to myself this has got to be the fix, so I unplug it hoping for the best and plug it back it in, and what do you kno problem solved smh, these mechanics are the devil

Bud5244 man I've never been so happy to read a reply lol I left the damn gas station and getting out into semi heavy traffic and my 08 yukon done that same exact thing so i pulled into the next available parking lot and started to google the readings on the dash and this happened to be the first one well i skimmed through and seen your comment climbed under the dash unplugged that sucker and it went off. Engine light is still on so still got that to decipher

July 2021 So glad I read this. My 2004 Yukon was driving just fine. Stopped at a light to turn and engine lights came on and I had max 20 mph the next 8 miles to home Luckily it was in a 30 mph zone. Anyway after reading this I went out to check my gas cap It came off really easy. Put back on 3 turns. Engine lights went off and everything is back to normal. Love these helpful pages. Thank you everyone.
