Make sure that the fuel line is not being blocked by something that is preventing the fuel from getting to the engine. Was there any mechanical work done on the car before it died?
sounds like your fuel line

The throttle position sensor could be causing it to flood out. It could also be the Mass Airflow sensor failing, which would cause an incorrect reading of airflow in from the intake, making the engine compensate by dumping more fuel in and flooding it.
