Jeep Transmission Transfer

Wondering if it is possible to install a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L i6
select track transmission and transfer case into my '96 Jeep Grand Cherokee
5.2L v8. Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

If it is possible it would be more expense and trouble than it would be worth.
