i have been quoted $500 for labor alone to replace main bearings on my 97 jeep grand cherokee laredo, is this a resonable price?

the wheel bearings...that sounds about right....the main engine bearings that is tooo inexpensive figure @50/hour you're only givin' the guy ten hours to do the job....testing at the end of the operation should take ten hours~...so NO that isn't a fair price....with a 97 you're sure too find more than one engine at your pickNpull....look for a rear end wreck~

motor has to come out for main bearings... so I guess it depends on what all is he changing? oil pump, gaskets ect... doesn't sound bad depending on what else he is changing.. 10 hrs to pull a motor and put it back in and I am buying parts doesn't sound that bad to me... and if its wheel bearing that's WAY to much!
