Ac compressor relay

Asked by Jake May 17, 2018 at 06:06 PM about the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just replaced my whole ac system on my jeep
grand 5.9 L. My new ac compressor came with the
wrong plug so I had to cut and splice in my old
plug to make it work. I hooked up gator clips to a
battery and the compressor was engaging and
disengageing just like it should. I got to test my
clutch once I got everything put back in from the
relay panel and I got nothing?  Any suggestions?
I'm at a loss. Is it possible I aired my clutch
backwards?  Ground to power and power to
ground?  But I figured if I did that then the test run
with the gators wouldn't have worked right?  Any
advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
