1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee has sluggish acceleration and every now and then will shut off?

, power steering and all. I crank it up again after pulling over and it goes
again, sometimes it will do it again, other times it will act as if nothing
happened.

As for the acceleration, around 10-20 mph it takes a while to get over that
hump. As if it doesn't want to switch over. I have to ease into the pedal to
get it to go instead of putting my foot down normally.

If that vehicle has an external fuel filter, change it. Would be a place to start. If that doesn't work then maybe have fuel pressure tested. Also, make sure you are up to date on your tuneups.
