Tail light/ Brake light

I have a 2000 jeep grand Cherokee and my left
driver side tail light is acting weird. When my head
lights are off and tail lights both brake light come
on ... When the headlights are on and I brake the
right side goes black it turns the whole light off

It's hard to explain but check your left and right side tail light bulbs. Some how they get installed in the socket backwards and back feed the circuits. It happen to me and I fiddled with it for a while and accidentally fixed it. Don't know how. Lol
