Possibly water pump is failing id also check coolant levels and make sure all the air got out of the cooling system.

The first sentence has me pretty confused. Let me say it like this: If the engine overheats while idling, but cools off while driving, your radiator cooling fan is not coming on. Check fuse, relay, temperature sensor, fan motor. Check the connector going to the fan motor too. The heater blower motor than does not go off, has a stuck relay.
