I have a 1999 Audi A6 Quattro and I could use some directions on how to replace a front turn signal light bulb. I am stumped and don't want to force anything as the unit is plastic.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have taken this car to numerous auto techs and they either refuse to look at it or they do
look at it and are stumped also. Time is an issue as I need to replace this bulb to pass
state inspection

Thanks

You will need an Audi specialist- if you don't have one already, find one quick- there will be more complicated issues than just a bulb-

the side lights are attached to the main lights. Just remove the 2 screws on top and pull. or fish in the side and turn the bulb casing out it should be accessable with out removal.

on the back of the main light housing there is a lock flap release it and the light will pull out. But you can just pull the plug from the housing its easier and faster.

I hate to differ with you but I have released the lock flap and the housing will not move (yes I removed the two screws holding the housing to the frame). I can access a light plug and remove it but it is the HEADLAMP not the turn signal which cannot be seen or reached with the assembly in the car. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

depends which side your working from if you have the 2.8L engine just remove the air way to the filter box and you got plenty of room on the passenger side i did all the wiring for my projector lights while they were installed in the car so i don't understand the issue its pull the tab and then pull the housing straight out from the light. if its stuck don't be afraid to pull harder. As for the head light remove the two bolts on top then pull it out slightly then slide it towards the outside of the car a bit and it should come straight out.
