Yea, that is a tie rod, but can you post a pic to where it runs? Just to the right of in this picture.
There is a tie rod to pitman arm they call it, just need to see.
I was just trying to say what the correct tie rod name is for it, but yes, this is a tie rod end. But so is the one under neath it. Just was trying to distinguish the difference.
Yes me too. It's getting me so frustrated - I have these three rods
Yea, ok, did the parts store make the boxes? The one on the left in the picture says it is for the right outer steering arm, where the pitman arm is attached, box in the middle says right outer steering arm to steering arm, what ever they mean by that, and just left side on the box on the right. Should be able to take them out and match them up to where they go. Take them out and lay them on top of those boxes so I can still see the description written on the boxes.
Ok thanks so much for your help! Yes the auto store wrote that on boxes but they were not much help other than that.... one second and I'll go take a pic of the parts ! You are a life saver !
See the third is being located now
i put the whole tie rod assembly on my 03 jeep cherokee laredo and now it feels and sounds like its fetching up when i turn left
@Rwebb73 The same happened to me. The Jeep dealership mounted the tie rods the wrong way. I noticed that noise..checked it, and it was the wheel rubbing against the tie rod because it was the wrong one they put. They put the lower instead of the upper.. and vice versa, and it's JEEP not any garage ! I was extremely angry at them.
