Lift Hatch Power Latch Failure

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How do you open the rear hatch if the power latch fails. There does not seem to be a mechanical over ride like for the doors.

So your saying you can't pull on the handle to open the rear hatch manually? The lock actuator is a common failure on your vehicle and requires you to remove the inner hatch panel to access the part.

no, if the latch were locked and failed locked how do you get it open to repair it? It hasn;t happened yet but was wondering. Getting ready to replace latch actuator and was just concerned. also going to replace rear door actuators when I can find them. Dorman only makes front door types. Mopar may be only supplier for rear ones.

Well interestingly yesterday lift power lock failed open so can open lift OK with outside handle. The 3 failed power locks were not all at once but were in quick progression. One rear door failed, then 2 days later the other rear door failed and now a week later the lift failed. I find it unlikely they all 3 wore out at such close timing. Do these share a power pulse so that they cascade this way when one starts the process? I find the series of quick failure weird.
