what would cause a moaning noise coming from the dashboard on the passenger side of a 1998 lincoln towncar

It is the air blend actuator behind the glove box on far right side of firewall. The door that determines how much hot engine air it allows to mix with your cabin air is malfunctioning and when they fail they make a sound that almost sounds like farting.
