why doesn't the key fob unlock the drivers door but when the key pad on door is used the drivers door will open

Asked by GuruYPB7D Apr 06, 2018 at 03:12 PM about the 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis 4 Dr LS Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought the key less entry fob for my 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis and so
when the dealer rep programmed it to the car it would unlock every door except
the drivers door. If you used the drivers door buttons and input the 5 digit entry
code then the drivers door would unlock as well as all other doors. What does
this mean and why? Thanks
