Should there be a Chime when opening the driver's door even when no key is in the ignition and lights are not on?

Replaced the light control module and since then it chimes whenevr the driver's door is opened ...even when the key is not in it and the lights are OFF. Person replacing says this is normal, but I see no reason for a chime every time the door is opened. No chime when other doors are opened. It didn't do this before the module was replaced.

Sounds like the lighting control module is defective - No It should not do that
