2006 Grand Marquis - Dash Cluster Issue While Accelerating

Asked by GuruDWJZFC Jun 03, 2024 at 10:18 PM about the 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Ultimate

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2006 Grand Marquis LS Ultimate- Just 22k
miles.

1. Dash cluster issues: All gauges drop to 0,
digitizer screen goes black, & air controls
reset at the same time. This only happens
while ACCELERATING & RPM’s at 2500+.
Immediately stops/resets when brakes
applied. Forums show this to be a common
panther issue & to go the dash cluster send in
for refurbishment route. Thoughts?

Tough one, check engine ground wires to chassis, it's a long shot, but easy. maybe the engine moving a little does it.

Check the wiring first, grounding issues can cause all of your symptoms. This car has a lot of grounds.

This is a known problem with these vehicles. Have the cluster replaced or rebuilt. My '08 Grand Marquis had the same problem. Jim
