Sound like it got hot, either ran low on coolant because of a leak, or a stuck closed thermostat. Not good on the heads either.

Well best wait till tomorrow if you don't have a garage with some light. The smoke now, can you tell if it is a coolant smell, or hopefully not a electrical smell. Coolant, then try replacing the thermostat. When you do you have to purge the air out of the cooling system when refilling it while running.

Smells like a coolant. Will try replacing the therostat. And purge the air put of the cooling system when refilling it while running. Thanks. Hopefully that is what it is. I'll let you know.

Keep an eye out for any wet spots, (coolant leaks) while you are under there, hoses and such.
