detach the lower radiator hose and see what comes out. Not sure what "pin" you speak of butthere should be a few quarts of coolant in the reservoir, radiator, and engine. Taking the hose off will clear the engins (mostly) and the radiator but will not empty the reservoir. After draining, get more radiator flush and folow the instructions. If it has been a whlie since this was done you may want to replace the upper and lower hoses as well as install a new thermostat.

If it still running hot after flushing and putting a new thermostat. It could just be a simple things as air pockets in the coolant system. If it still runs hot start touching and feeling hoses if top hose is hot and bottom cold then might have to change radiator, because of restriction in it if it was as bad as you describe is a possibility your radiator took a crap.
