Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have taken apart and reassembled my
engine twice in my 2000 Pontiac Grand Am
GT 3.4L V6. I replaced head gaskets, valve
cover gaskets, upper intake manifold... Car
will turn over and kind of start sometimes
but will not stay running... It makes some
loud knocking noises during start attempts
75% of the time... ? My battery is
continuously dying... The starter is working...
I can't run the codes because I can't move
the car. A neighbor suggested that it could
be the rocker arms are too tight. The fuel
injectors were not fully inserted into their
holes, so that's my next attempt... I've
already checked and replaced all spark
plugs and wires once before the gasket
change, and just replaced the spark plugs
for a second time afterwards... PLEASE
HELP ME. I have been working on getting
this car back on the road for 3 weeks now...
Every day spending hours under the hood...
Today will be my third engine disassembly...
$1000's dumped into it... Feel free to email
me at bricim@hotmail.com if I do not
respond in a timely manner on this site

The knocking noise does it sound like it's coming from the top or bottom of motor ? To tell the difference when the motor starts to knock put your ear close to the oil pan and see if knock is more noticeable.
