Antifreeze keeps the engine cooler but you may have a thermostat problem or head gasket problem

Antifreeze raises the boiling point (and lowers the freezing point) of water. The correct mix to use is 50% water and 50% antifreeze. Just read the label and fill your system with the mixture and it is liely your problem will disappear. If not, then you can proceed with other trouble shooting but no matter what, get the right mix of water and antifreeze in there.
