coolant light and constant refil

Asked by janelli2497 Mar 01, 2017 at 12:05 PM about the 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix 2 Dr GT Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my 1999 pontiac grand prix 3800 will not
hold coolant very long. I refil almost every
week. it seems like its coming from the
passenger side of the motor and hits
serpentine belt. no white smoke so I don't
think head gasket. also my temperature gets
up to 210 fast and stays there. doesn't go
over just stays right at 210. low coolant light
is always on too

I had that problem it is the heater core elbows. Real quick easy fix. Get the metal ones not the plastic. As the plastic will break down. It was a bad design to save money I'd assume. It's like 10 bux
